A year already!!!

Hard to believe it, but Kaitlyn is one year old already. She had her first birthday party yesterday, and she had a blast! We had a full house of people for her to play with and entertain. Relatives from Fremont came and so did friends and family in Lincoln. We all had lunch, opened presents, and then the cake. Then the bath. :) It was a lot of fun, and Kaitlyn enjoyed herself. After the party was over, she took a good nap, and then got busy playing with all of her new toys. While playing, she decided to give us a gift, and took her first step by herself. She hasn't taken more than one at a time yet, but wow, more proof that she is growing fast. She's also pointing at and grunting at things all the time to tell us what she wants, and is curious about everything. She has expanded her vocabulary to dada, mama, doggie, and buddy. Mainly dada or daddy. Loves blowing raspberries and sticking out her tongue, too.

The first couple of pictures are from earlier in the week, when it was in the 60's. There is a park right down the bike path behind our house, so we took her for the first time. She loved the swings, just not sure about the slide yet. :)

Wheeeee!

Hold on tight, Daddy, I'm not sure about that...

Before picture.

Me in my pretty dress!

Chillin' with the family.

I love balloons.

Time to open presents!

Hmmm what's in here?

Ohhh turn it on!

Elmo is singing to me!

Yay, I love Little People!

My first birthday cake.

And of course, my own personal cake.

Why is everyone looking at me? What do I do now?

Squishy.

That tastes kinda good...

Maybe I'll have some more....

Yup, I'm cute, even when I'm stuffing my face full of cake.

Wassup?

And the cake has been destroyed!

What?

That was fun. More?

Gotta stick out my tongue!

Need some water after all that sugar.

Time to break out the new toys and mingle with the guests!

Ribbon!!! Yay!

After a big day, time for a good nap with Ducky.

Nap over, time to play and open one more gift!

Hi!

Whoa cool!

Go baby go!

Kaitlyn has been a busy girl again!!! Yesterday she looked at Tony and said "daddy." She's big on the dada's a lot lately. Then she stood on her own for about a second or so for the first time. Talk about a great birthday gift for me! Today she got up to 5 seconds. She is growing too fast. She crawls super fast and loves "racing" us. With the cabinets empty we took off the child proofing stuff to them, so she likes to climb on in.

No pictures today. We move out Monday and close on our new house Friday. Next update will most likely be from there. Yay!

Christmas

Kaitlyn had her first Christmas this year and she had a lot of fun. She didn't like the fact that she would open up a gift, find a toy, and then we'd take the toy away and give her something else she had to open! She did really well, though, and had a lot of fun. We have not put out all of her gifts yet, because we are moving in a couple of weeks. Just to another house in town. I'll be sending out an email to those that I have soon with the information, so if you are family or friend that I don't have email for, please contact me. There are a LOT of pictures that I want to put up for this, so here we go:

10 months already

And Christmas is almost here! Kaitlyn has been great about not bothering the tree or gifts. She's had a few times where she's gotten too curious and been told no, but nothing too serious. I'm looking forward to watching her on Christmas. Of course, most of the gifts under the tree are hers. :) She has begun having some small temper tantrums, but so far she gets over them pretty quickly. She has been sick for a bit now, with a cold, so her temperature has been a bit high, plus she's teething, but hopefully she'll feel better by Thursday. She likes to sit and play with her toys and loves it when we join her. She will flip through her books until we come over and read it to her, especially her Peekaboo books. She is eating lots of different things now, and loved my lasagna the other night. She can stand with just one hand on us (or the couch or chair, whatever is convenient) and loves to laugh. She's also learned to wave!

More pictures:

Mmm shredded cheese!

What's all that white stuff out there?

Mommy and Daddy put this tree up in my living room. Daddy's showing it to me for the first time.

Santa!

Kaitlyn had her first visit with Santa earlier this week, and we got a pretty good picture out of it. More updates were in previous post.

Quick update

Kaitlyn is doing well. She is crawling like crazy, cruising, pulling herself up, and loves to jibber jabber. She had a good first Thanksgiving and is getting spoiled for Christmas, of course. She went to see Santa this week and I hope to get that picture up soon. We've been pretty busy around here. We found a house we like closer to the hospital and with plenty of space to grow, so we're attempting to sell our house. Hence the lack in postings. Her 9 month appointment went well and she is doing great. So far, though, she's short. :) Looks like she got that one from me. Here are a few pics:
