Kaitlyn will be having outpatient surgery for her hernia on March 9th at 7:30 am. It should be pretty simple and the surgeon said that she'll be back to herself by the next day, that the hard part will be keeping her "quiet" afterwards. Now we're hoping she doesn't take off walking before then! That and she can't get a cold, so she's pretty much avoiding close contact with other kids until then.
In other Kaitlyn news, her favorite thing to do right now is point and say "that" and learn about stuff. She also loves to spin me around in the computer chair, which is making typing this difficult. She loves putting the teacup from her tea set on her toes, and is trying to get her socks on by herself, too.
We have decided to from a team for the March of Dimes this April. If anyone is interested in joining our team or donating, please let me know. I hope to get a widget up on this page soon.

One year appointment done
Poor girl has a bruise from one of her shots, but she was in a good mood tonight. Just give her free reign with her toys and she's better. All good report at the appointment. She's in the higher percentile for her weight, but lower for height. He said she is just fine. We are switching her to milk now and she's pretty much off of the bottle. She was all over the room during her appointment, so she's plenty active.
We do have a surgical consult set up for the 24th regarding her hernia. We'll learn then what will be done about it and when. It is a general surgeon here in town that her pediatrician refers to and is in the medical plaza at the hospital Tony works at.

A year already!!!
Hard to believe it, but Kaitlyn is one year old already. She had her first birthday party yesterday, and she had a blast! We had a full house of people for her to play with and entertain. Relatives from Fremont came and so did friends and family in Lincoln. We all had lunch, opened presents, and then the cake. Then the bath. :) It was a lot of fun, and Kaitlyn enjoyed herself. After the party was over, she took a good nap, and then got busy playing with all of her new toys. While playing, she decided to give us a gift, and took her first step by herself. She hasn't taken more than one at a time yet, but wow, more proof that she is growing fast. She's also pointing at and grunting at things all the time to tell us what she wants, and is curious about everything. She has expanded her vocabulary to dada, mama, doggie, and buddy. Mainly dada or daddy. Loves blowing raspberries and sticking out her tongue, too.
The first couple of pictures are from earlier in the week, when it was in the 60's. There is a park right down the bike path behind our house, so we took her for the first time. She loved the swings, just not sure about the slide yet. :)
Wheeeee!

Hold on tight, Daddy, I'm not sure about that...

Before picture.

Me in my pretty dress!

Chillin' with the family.

I love balloons.

Time to open presents!

Hmmm what's in here?

Ohhh turn it on!

Elmo is singing to me!

Yay, I love Little People!

My first birthday cake.

And of course, my own personal cake.

Why is everyone looking at me? What do I do now?

Squishy.

That tastes kinda good...

Maybe I'll have some more....

Yup, I'm cute, even when I'm stuffing my face full of cake.

Wassup?

And the cake has been destroyed!

What?

That was fun. More?

Gotta stick out my tongue!

Need some water after all that sugar.

Time to break out the new toys and mingle with the guests!

Ribbon!!! Yay!

After a big day, time for a good nap with Ducky.

Nap over, time to play and open one more gift!

Hi!

Whoa cool!
