Who would have thought a play mat could be so much fun? If this doesn't make you smile, then I don't know what will:

6 month developmental appointment
We headed out to the hospital today for Kaitlyn's 6 month developmental appointment. Babies that have complications in NICU get signed up to be monitored through the hospital, on top of their regular pediatric visits. They go by her adjusted age (which is where her development should be), so since she was born a month early, that made her 6 month appointment this month. She did great! The doctor said that Kaitlyn is doing just perfect, and that she's even advanced for her age. Yay! Since she has no developmental worries, she does not go in for a 9 month visit and waits for her year visit. So she will not go back until March. The doctor gave us some ideas for Christmas, too. She said that Kaitlyn is getting into the stage where container toys (hiding balls in cups, that sort of thing) and cause and effect toys would be great.
Kaitlyn is happier now that her tooth has popped through. She loves to explore and new things are way better than old ones. :)

Here are a few pics from our trip to Illinois and Kaitlyn's first dip in the pool! Also, of course, some around the house shots!
My first time in the pool while we were at the hotel. My mom's cousin Caleb came over to say hi!

Aren't I pretty? Daddy and I were waiting for the wedding to start!

Go Huskers!!

I'm 7 month olds already. Can you believe it?

Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

I was having some floor time and Angel came over to say hi.

Watch out Angel, here I come!

Swim time!

Getting first tooth!
You can see the top of her first front tooth poking through now! She's been pretty fussy the past couple days, but I would be too with that coming in! She did awesome on our trip to Illinois for my cousin's wedding and was a little trooper with all of the changes in her routine and all of the new people, and especially when you take into consideration the fact that she was getting her first tooth. She did not like her car seat afterwards for a day, but really, I didn't like the car either then. She's a little social butterfly already and loves people.
I have more pictures and videos to post (she went in the pool at the hotel for the first time and had fun, no crying or anything, but she did get a nasty looking rash until we got her bathed), but it's been a busy day. Mom had her shoulder surgery today and it went well. If anyone wants more details and contact info, shoot me an email.
More soon, I promise! This weekend even I hope.
