Had to go in today...
I wasn't feeling quite right and had some cramps, so I called the nurse this morning. She had me come in this afternoon. The PA did an exam, and I ended up having a contraction during it. They hooked me up to the monitor for awhile, and I was having some mild contractions. Baby girl was doing just fine. :) They gave me a shot, had me sit for a couple more minutes, and checked again. It stopped the contractions. The OB did a different exam, and a couple tests to see if I have any sort of infection that might be causing them. I'm to call Friday to update them and get some results, then on Monday for the rest. He has me staying on a pill every 6 hours to prevent contractions and gave me another one, too. He had me come home to rest tonight instead of going to our birthing class. So things are fine, just have another pill to take. The side effects aren't great, but as long as they keep the contractions under control, that's all that matters.

Quick update
It's late, I'm tired, but I want to get my update posted before I go to sleep and possibly forget things. I had my latest OB appointment today. Things are still okay. My blood pressure was up again, this time a bit higher than last time. It was something like 156/82. When the doctor and I talked about some current stress in my life, he said he was sure that was the reason. He said if it was something more, the bottom number would be higher, but since it is not, he believes it is the stress. So basically it's something that we'll keep an eye on, but combined with my other tests, he's not overly concerned at this time. Nothing I have to worry about checking on before my next 2 week appointment. I did mention that I hadn't felt as much activity over the last couple days, but had some today. He went ahead and hooked me up to the fetal monitor for awhile. That went just fine, she was active and no contractions. So while we kind of have something to watch, it's nothing to be overly concerned about right now. And the baby is fine. My weight was up, but he told me it was water weight, due to the fact I've swelled up in the past 2 weeks. I did get told that I'm supposed to be making more time to take it easy at night, especially to do kick count tests. So I'll have to do less stuff at night and try to find time... sometime to do it. So if I become antisocial and not do things with people, I'm sorry, but I need to be spending more time resting. I'm just not very good at that! My next appointment is on February 6th. We asked about a 4D ultrasound, and we're having one of those that day, too, to check on things! I'm really excited for that.
Time for bed.

Latest OB appointment
We didn't get home from prepared childbirth class last night until after 9:30pm, and I was happy to just make it to bed, so my update is a day late.
Everything is fine. My blood pressure was up a bit, but not much, and I'd been running around. The doctor isn't concerned at all. Baby Z's heart rate was up a bit (160s), but still well in normal ranges. She kicked the doppler while we were listening, too. :) Got my questions answered, and the next appointment is in 2 weeks. Crazy to think I'm already 31 weeks and enter my 8th month this weekend. 2 months and we'll have a baby. I'm getting more and more excited for her to arrive. Finally let myself buy some baby clothes last weekend, and that was a lot of fun!
We started our prepared childbirth class last night, and I think it'll be really interesting. It's not a Lamaze class, even though we do go over that. We go over everything the body goes through for delivery, the stages, how to handle it both physically and mentally, breathing, drugs, what goes on at the hospital... it should be really helpful. At least nice to know all of it. We have 5 weeks left.
We start meeting pediatricians next week. We're only meeting with a couple, and I hope that's enough. Otherwise we'll meet with others. Time is very short. I don't have a weekend left now that isn't full. There is just too much to get done around the house and too much going on outside of it! We've decided that we'll probably make one last run to Omaha for stuff on 2/10 if we need to, and then we're sticking around Lincoln until after the baby is born. I feel safer that way and want to be close to the hospital.
I'm starting to become more sore and more tired. My wrists and ankles haven't been too happy. Heart burn has kicked in, too. I definitely do not complain, but wow... I'm starting to feel it. :)
